Candler Park Tour of Homes
Come visit 9 beautiful Candler Park homes and see why so many people choose to make historic Candler Park their home!
The Tour of Homes will take place on Sunday, October 11, 2009 from 12:00 to 6 pm.
The self-guided walking tour includes eight houses and one loft on Dekalb Avenue. The homes range from classic Craftsman bungalows to modern lofts. The construction dates span 106 years. Several renovations have used the latest “green” construction techniques including solar panels, sourcing construction material locally, recycling all waste material and using energy efficient cellulose insulation.
The tour booklet also includes the popular article, “How to Research the History of Your Home” by Robert Craig, Professor, College of Architecture, Georgia Tech.
Tickets are $15 on the day of the tour. Tickets may be purchased in advance for $12 at the following locations:
The Mercantile, Candler Park Market, Donna Van Gogh’s, Little Five Points Pharmacy, Ace Hardware on Scott, Inman Park Pet Works or online via PayPal.
